"Carbon & Mobility" - International Experts for Lightweight-Constructions met on 15- 16 June in Stade
Almost 320 Specialists joined this year’s 10th CFK-Valley Stade Convention.
The CFK-Valley Stade Convention is one of the most innovative expert conferences and showcases on the topic of composite lightweight constructions. Under the topic "Carbon & Mobility", CFRP-Experts from all over the world presented latest innovations and highlights on Composites and lightweight structures on 15 - 16 June 2016 in Stade, Germany.
Partner Country was Korea and were presented by partners from Jeonbuk Province and Gumi City.
Jeonbuk Province and Jeonju City have been at the center of the carbon industry in Korea for over 10 years, holding an International Carbon Festival with regional industries in the areas of aerospace, automotive, wind energy and carbon composites. Jeonbuk and Jeonju have also built a Carbon Valley with a value chain that covers all stages from carbon fiber to the end product.
CITY OF GUMI is home to the South Korea`s largest inland industrial complex. Gumi is an important industrial cluster of the country with many companies such as Samsung Electronics and LG Display. The major industries in Gumi are Electronics, Carbon fibers, Medical devices, Automotive and Aircraft parts industry etc. In Gumi, there are about 3,200 companies with 120,000 workers. It is the largest scale in Korea. In 2015, the city exported USD 27. 3 billion (accounts for 62.86 percent of Gyeongsangbuk-do province‘s total exports and 5.2% of national exports).
As special guests the Consul General for the Korean Republic in Hamburg, Mr See-jeong CHANG, send his greetings to the guests of the Convention. Furthermore the mayoress of Hanseatic City Stade as well as the Mayor of City of Gumi, Mr Yoo-chin Nam and the Vice Mayor of Jeonju City, Mr Bong Up Cho welcomed the international participants to the 10th anniversary of the Convention and opened the lecture series.
More than 30 top notch speakers will be presenting their latest developments in the technologies, processes and construction methods of composite lightweight construction both in research and in practice:
The 2-day-conference was accompanied by an exclusive exhibition with more than 40 Partners. The exhibitors presented a holistic overview of latest trends and developments as well as products and services along the value chain of CFRP. Excerpt of Partners: AIRTECH EUROPE Sarl (Luxembourg), AIRBUS Operations GmbH together CTC GmbH (Stade), NICCA Chemical Co., Ltd. (Japan), FILL Gesellschaft mbH (Austria) etc. Beyond that, Korea and the CFK Valley e.V. were presented by their own jointbooths.
A special hightlight of the agenda was the bestowal of the "CFK-Valley Innovation Award". To push and promote innovators and market drivers with focus on CFRP, the CFK Valley e.V. and the Hanseatic City Stade yearly call out the 7,500 EUR donated Award.
This years‘"CFK-Valley Innovation Award" for developments with a particularly high degree of innovation in CFRP lightweight construction was bestowed to the AUDI AG for the project: „Ultra-RTM: a technology for high performance and cost effective CFRP parts for high-volume production“. The award cerenomy took place under the framework of the eveing event in the solarhall of the CFK NORD Building.
